The Van Vleck Ranch is a fully operational cattle ranch with almost 10,000 acres under management in southeastern Sacramento County, which represents approximately 1½ percent of all of Sacramento County. In addition to the cattle ranching, the operation provides a number of recreational opportunities to the public and organizations, such as horseback riding, fishing, camping and even paint balling. Public safety training and National Guard rescue exercises take place in the open land and water areas of the ranch. A land of many uses, the Van Vleck family works to keep the business successful with a long term goal of staying in ranching in this community for many generations to come.

Our family looks forward to 2056 which it will be celebrating its 200 year anniversary of running our ranching business here in Northern California. We live in a much different and far more complex world than our founding fathers and mothers did 200 years ago. However, our present day family members understand and appreciate the risks, dedication and hard work that our relatives took when they crossed the United States in a small wagon in 1856. Their courage drives us today – to be successful in business and to provide for the community.
